I find your predicament rather interesting. You have proclaimed yourself to be white, and since you appear so, live as a white American would. Some would draw parallels to my experience. I am a white male who passed for a different religious group. Religion and race are two distinct concepts. Religion is the God you worship, whereas your blackness is in your blood. In my undertaking I showed how religion is an arbitrary decision-we are still white. You, as a black person by nature, are disturbing the balance of the world.
